Cuthbertson High School
Connecting our Students to the World
Cuthbertson High School will open for students in August of 2009. The school is being built on Cuthbertson Road in Western Union County. This school will join students from Marvin Ridge, Parkwood, and Weddington High Schools.

| 2 | Curriculum - Cuthbertson High School will offer all courses currently being offered in any other Union County Public School. The curriculum is determined by the North Carolina Standard Course of Study. The Course of Study, academic credits, graduation requirements, etc., are determined by the Union County Program of Studies.

| 3 | Continuous Improvement - The administration and staff of Cuthbertson High School are committed to continuous improvement. The school will be guided by a Site-based Management Team (SbMT) consisting of representatives elected by their constituents including administrators, teachers, parents, and students. The SbMT will author and oversee the implementation of the School Improvement Plan. This plan will be aligned to the Union County Public Schools Strategic plan and the State Board of Education Goals. |

| 5 | Student Resources - Online Resources to help students with academic work.

| 6 | Athletics - The North Carolina High School Athletic Association has assigned Cuthbertson High School to the Rocky River 2A Conference. The school will compete in all Varsity and Junior Varsity sports beginning in the 2009-2010 school year.

| 7 | School Colors/Mascot - After tabulating the results of the Cuthbertson Middle and High School students' voting, we are excited to announce that our schools will be represented as the Cuthbertson Cavaliers. Our schools colors will be Navy and Old Gold. Pictured below is an ESPN picture of Navy vs. Notre Dame. Both schools use the color scheme (Navy/Old Gold) that we will use.

| 8 | Transportation - Bus transportation is provided to all students living in our school district. Licensed students will be provided an opportunity to purchase a parking space for the year and drive to school.
